WEAR YOUR SHIRT TO WORK DAY!

On Tuesday 24th August England 2018 is staging a national ‘Wear Your Shirt To Work Day’ to mark 100 days to go until England finds out if its bid to host the FIFA World Cup™ has been successful.

On the day, people across the country will be swapping their regular work attire for their favourite football strip to demonstrate their support for England’s World Cup Bid.

England captain, and England 2018 ambassador, Rio Ferdinand has encouraged everyone to get their shirts on:

“Wear Your Shirt To Work Day is a great chance for the entire country to get together as one team and back the bid. I can’t wait to see so many people wearing their football shirts to work!”

Ray Winstone has also been keen to support ‘Wear Your Shirt To Work Day’:

“I want to see everyone wearing their colours with pride and getting behind England’s World Cup Bid. “It’s not just 11 players who wear the shirt. It’s thousands of proud Englishmen…so wear yours.”

‘Wear Your Shirt To Work Day’ is supported by Candidate Host Cities and local counties across the country as well as England 2018 partners including Morrisons, BT and British Airways.

Back the Bid Week was launched by England 2018 Vice-President, David Beckham and is running until Thursday 26th August.  The week will feature a range of events and activity involving Host Cities, ambassadors, clubs, players and the public all over England before and during the FIFA Inspection Team’s technical evaluation of the bid (23rd – 26th August).

The Essentially Dance programme in Kirklees is unique in its approach to taking the programme into all its schools and Kirklees is the first local authority to involve older people and community groups in the programme.

The programme, formed by dance professionals, including Championship winners Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova, (from BBC's Strictly Come Dancing) and Physical Education experts, will give every child in participating schools and adults in the community the chance to learn a new life skill.
